Change

Random thoughts as this country (possibly) slips, slides away ….

1) I worry a bit for Obama. If any political figure is ripe for assassination, it’s this dude. He’s black. And despite what all of the pundits would have us think, there are plenty of nutjobs out there who would not be able to deal with a black president.

2) McCain’s comment last night about “that one” was not the least bit racist. This is a case of the politically correct overreacting.

3) I know people (men) who want to vote for McCain-Palin because they think Palin is “hot.” Cool. Why don’t we elect Jenny McCarthy president?

4) Most Republicans operate primarily out of one emotion: fear. Fear of losing their priviliged place in society; fear of a black president and, soon, a minority-majority in this country; fear of fair competition.

5) America’s celebrities, time after time, prove themselves to be boneheads. But at least politically, they are generally right (liberal). And this drives conservatives nuts. O’Reilly, Limbaugh, etc. rely heavily on pop music and movies on their shows … and yet these songs and clips come overwhelmingly from liberal artists. Must drive the conservatives nuts. All they have are the Sarah Palin/redneck country stars.

6) Could be just me, but doesn’t it look more and more like I was right on my “class warfare” position? Or should we (the middle class) continue to just bend over and take it up the ass?

“Class Warfare”

Filed under: Uncategorized — dogslurp @ 5:27 am

For years now, the Republicans have been deflecting any criticism of their policies as “Class Warfare,” and for years now, I have been telling anyone who’d listen that “class warfare” is not a dirty term … it’s something becoming more and more necessary.

Class Warfare is what this country did against England to gain independence. So now it’s a bad thing? Of course not, not unless you listen to the rich.

This Wall Street bailout ought to be the final straw. You got a rich neighbor? Don’t rob him, don’t do anything illegal, but make damn sure you call him a “greedy cocksucker” everytime you see him, or her.

What a conformist prick. This Kimmel joins the ranks of every Bible-thumping, tyranny-of-the-majority movement in his disdain of smokers.

Sounds harsh, but this asshole, giggling, trashed some actress tonight for her sin — smoking.

Kimmel … fuck you, and I can’t wait until your mentality and censorship shuts down your idiotic show.

Sober thoughts recalled drunkenly

Filed under: Uncategorized — dogslurp @ 3:20 am

1) They are now PhotoShopping pics of Palin … showing her in bikinis, miniskirts, and probably less. This is stupid. She’s not a bad looking woman, for a politician, but that’s the key phrase: “for a politician.” Compare her to a female celebrity in any other arena — sports, movies, TV, music — and she would be mistaken for the public relations rep.

2) If Obama loses this election, like Michael Moore says in his new book, it will be stunning. I still sometimes wonder if Moore’s movie, Fahrenheit 9/11, did more damage than good in the last election. You know, energizing the enemy. But probably not. The liberals are better, friendlier people than conservatives; therefore, they are more likely to back down from a fight. That’s too bad. Liberals need more streetfighters like Moore and the Clintons.

3) The mainstream media suffers from the same “let’s be nice guys” syndrome. That’s why it gave Bush a pass, and that’s why it’s afraid to label Fox news the right-wing propaganda machine it is.

4) As long as we’re critiquing Palin’s looks … Michelle Obama has the body of a female linebacker, and her teeth look ready to explode out of her mouth. Not exactly a Jackie Kennedy, but then, Jackie Kennedy was always overrated as a so-called “babe.” Again, it’s that old politicans are the ugliest celebrities syndrome.

5) Sara Palin has made “community service” a dirty term. So if I’m a young person and like her, I would disdain “community service” of any kind.

6) There is no professional sports team, now that the Red Sox finally won something, that continually disappoints its fan base more than the Minnesota Vikings.

7) (Here we go with the gay-bashing again) — I read local stories about how community theater needs to attract a wider audience. Here’s a thought: I know that the theater world is gay-dominated, but if you really want to attract a wider audience, perhaps you could produce fewer gaycentric shows?

8) This country is getting fatter, dumber, and lazier all the time. Thanks, Phil Gramm. As for myself? I am getting fatter and lazier, but not dumber. I wish I was getting dumber, because it’s true, ignorance is bliss.

theIsraelproject.org

theIsraelproject.org –

Call me anti-Semitic, but these fuckers need to go down now, and fast. I don’t know who’s behind this sick-fuck organization, but …

I live in the Twin Cities (current home of the equally sick Republicans), and we are getting inundated with commercials from “the Israelproject.org,” showing us a horrifying scenario in which animated nuclear bombs from St. Paul could cross the Mississippi and nuke Minneapolis (or vice versa; who cares?). This is sick, and this is typical of Israel and, apparently, American Jews. This nuclear nightmare is compared to the potential of Iran nuking Israel.

If I was neutral toward the Jews before, that ain’t the case now. These fuckers want to drag the United States into a new war, which is evident from these commercials. Israel has ITS OWN nukes, unacknowledged by Israel, and yet it wants to use fearmongering to drag the United States, AGAIN, into a war serving Israel’s self-interest. Fuck these assholes. Use your own damn nukes, pricks. I never considered myself anti-Israel before (I have Jewish relatives), and I don’t give a shit about the fucking radical Muslims, but this is the last straw.

Israel, why can’t you defend your own fucking self with the BILLIONS of dollars the U.S. sends you, and stop trying to draw us into your problems? You did this crap after 9/11, and now here you go again.

The billions of dollars, the sycophantic asshole Bush we bestowed upon you … they aren’t enough?

israel has influenced America enough.

Gidget Poops Twice (so far)

Filed under: Uncategorized — dogslurp @ 4:11 am

Palin, the “family values” cheerleader with a pregnant teen daughter, slighted Obama tonight as a “community organizer.” Apparently, in her world, that’s all he’s been. Hmmmm. Thought he had eight years in the Illinois legislature, and three years in the United States senate. Apparently not. Apparently his only experience is as a community organizer. Am sure the “hockey mom” has her facts straight.

Second Gidget poop: She’s making much of her opposition to the infamous “Bridge to Nowhere.” But there is no mention that she at first supported it.

Oh, yeah … and what’s with this investigation over her battle with an ex-brother-in-law?

Gidget for president?

Norma Rae

Well, the Republicans are pumped. I’m happy for them. Hope their euphoria lasts a few more days, because …

Tonight was all style over substance (sound familiar, Obama critics?). Watching the TV talking heads wax euphoric over Palin’s speech tonight, more than one mentioned Annette Bening in The American President. You know, the “everywoman” who comes out of nowhere and excites a presidential campaign. Only two problems with that analogy, problems that Fox TV fails to mention: the movie was blatantly liberal in tone, and oh yeah, it was a fairy tale.

Palin has yet to face the ultimate test — grilling from the American press. And, somehow, I don’t think her hockey mom “experience” will serve her well on a debate stage with Biden.

This woman is Sally Field telling Republicans she’s happy they “really, really like me,” but once the real scrutiny begins, we’ll probably find out she’s less Norma Rae and more Gidget.

Who wants Gidget to be president of the United States?

Fucking Your Brain

Filed under: Uncategorized — dogslurp @ 3:46 am

I notice, as I age, that I get pickier and pickier about the women I find attractive. Twenty years ago, if some slut in a bar threw herself at me, I’d have no problem … going home alone and thinking I should have banged her.

Well, sometimes I did bring her home.

But now I’m choosier. I wonder, can I actually have a conversation with this chick? Will she respect the fact that I get cluster migraines, and that when I do, she can be a Jessica Alba dead-ringer, strip stark naked, pole dance around my dining room table … and I won’t give a shit? Because my head is exploding with pain? And I don’t mean THAT head.

So I can kind of empathize with middle-aged women who find themselves single: They have finally reached an age where they actually have a bit of wisdom, and they now use sound judgment when it comes to men, but …

They discover there aren’t very many men interested in them anymore, because they are middle-aged women, and what they’ve gained in wisdom they’ve lost in looks.

I suppose that, as a man, I’m lucky because although I’ve aged, I haven’t gone bald (yet) and I haven’t become obese (yet), but I find I am still screwed, in a sense, because women are just as shallow as men — just in a different sense. At my age, women think, I should be more wealthy. That’s pretty much the same as my thinking, “at her age, she should have taken better care of her body.”

So … we are all fucked.

Biggie Speechie

Obama’s been speaking for about 35 minutes now (he’s still speaking), and I’m a bit underwhelmed. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still voting for the dude, but I do believe two mighty forces were at work against this “rock star” speech: hype, and speech fatigue.

Obama had one helluva lineup batting before him, in his wife, the Clintons, Teddy K. and Joe Biden. It’s as if, in the World Series, game seven inning nine, Phil Rizzuto and Yogi Berra hit home runs to put the Yanks up by four … and then it’s Mantle’s turn to bat. He can hit a dinger, but we’re already emotionally exhausted from cheering on Phil and Yogi.

The speech was good, but uninspiring.

That’s the bad news. The good news? Now it’s McCain’s turn to bumble and stumble his way through the spotlight.

A Good Sign

Filed under: Uncategorized — dogslurp @ 5:43 am

Watching the Dems convention tonight, and then Fox’s coverage …

O’Reilly lost it, which can only be good news for liberals. Balding sexual-harasser started screaming at the camera about Fox’s ratings dominance, something he usually refrains from doing. Started begging guest Dennis Miller to rescue him ….

If he feels bad, maybe there’s a young female Fox intern he can call up ….
